Catch Me If You Can
Photo Credits to Pinterest, Got to love it! | So listen, even I... who at times has completely sworn off marriage in general. Promised it would be a cold day in hell before I was found at the alter for anything but worship.... though in my bottom drawer you'll find a wedding planner book, and on my pinterest is a 'once upon a time' board dedicated to the best wedding ideas floating out there in the cyber world. Even I have those moments. We're mostly girls here, right? (this would be the time a guy might notice this post isn't exactly traveling your alley way) We can admit it, that's the first step right! What makes us girls dream of a big fancy day in uncomfortable clothes, where we stress out so much we typically break out.... What's the appeal of such a thing? The desire to be accepted? The need for attention? The yummy food and fattening cake? I suppose it might be different for each of us, for me I honestly couldn't tell you what makes me daydream of 'the big day'. |
I can tell you this though, even with my pinterest board, my Sa-Weet wedding planner (by smashbook, highly suggest their awesomeness of products!) I don't want the day to happen all too quickly. You see, I want to be a catch! Not the kind that guys tend to think of as a trophy wife (I don't look good in gold, or silver for that matter) when I say "catch" I mean more of the term "catch me if you can" | |
I have a motto, It's kinda my standard for a guy. I want to have to Spiritually Run to keep up with his Spiritual Walk.
Therefore, in tern I would believe the same motto could apply from a guy for I.
Don't spend your time as a single young lady sitting around waiting for Prince Charming. Our lives are like revolving worlds. You join atmospheres with the ones revolving around you. We have many titles and we can become them full heartedly with nothing pulling us back. I'm an auntie, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a mentor, a missions director the list goes on and on...
I enter each of those worlds freely because I have no world holding me in one place. I can travel the galaxy! Once we have a marriage, a husband and family of our own that becomes our world. Grounding us to one place, and rightfully so.
If you're wondering, I'm not anti-love or even anti-marriage I'm simply showing you a view point to make your world maybe a little more exciting.
Who said we had to be lonely and dread the singleness of our pre-wed lives. Go out and travel the world. Be so on fire for God that you only have eyes for His desires and His plans for you. He knows where your Prince Charming is, He also knows just where you are.
Don't become a statistic, Apostolic girl becoming a lady... becoming an old maid if you're not married by 21.... enjoy your time. Live it up! Go Go Go....

Lets Get Real... |
Recently my sister made a comment, she didn't want her kids to grow up and ask mommy why she never took that chance. (of course she was referring to playing the piano, which she's great at.) This got me thinking, I may not have kids to motivate me to keep going, do my best, become something they can be proud of. When I look in the mirror I want to see the reflection of someone I would be proud to call mine (you know if I were a dude and all) So when I say I want to be a catch, I suppose I mean more then just catch up with me. It's a bit of a mix, of course I'm doing what God calls me to do. Which happens to be what I love (funny how that works huh) I want to be the girl I would be proud to call well.. myself. If I have a standard for the man in my life, then I wouldn't expect anything less from him for I. So you wont find me daydreaming of a hunk, if you need me I'll be the girl in the third world country walking with a little boy. Falling in love with the atmosphere of a place most people have forgotten of. I'll be the girl worshipping on Sunday just begging for God's attention. I'll be the girl with passion in her eyes as she prays with all those little guys, spirits so tender for God's touch. I'll be the girl I can say I'm proud of. Catch me if you can.... |
